Water, Emotional Wisdom, and the Wounded Healer

It is hard to believe that 2011 is reaching it's halfway mark. There is no denying this has been a monumental year for everyone both personally and globally. In fact, much of the energetic shift that is anticipated in 2012 is already transpiring. As I stated in my previous videos, 2011 has been a year of inevitable change. Because of the prominent 11 energy, much of that change is leading us towards balancing our spirit with the material world, and leading us towards our higher purpose. Many of us have made conscious changes this year to relocate, change jobs, expand our family, and engage in activities that make our spirits soar. This takes effort and hard work, but the rewards are manifold.

There are many changes happening this year, however, that seem beyond our control that are bringing stress and even heartache. As difficult as these circumstances can feel in the moment, sometimes these stresses are what bring us the most profound healing. Since 2011 has a number two on either end (11 reduces to a 2 since 1+1=2), we are learning about balancing polarities, and that means we are seeing the shadow side to the light in our lives, and also where darkness can bring us light.

Astrology and numerology are amazing tools to help us navigate our spiritual journey. Planets and numbers don't "make us" do or act a certain way, they are merely vibrational representations of what we are experiencing in our collective unconscious; "As above, so below". We are affecting our planets as much as they are affecting us. By understanding the energies of our current planetary and numeric cycles, we can prepare for our journey. It is similar to reading a weather report prior to dressing for the day.

Numerology has given us some clues about how to navigate this year. Many people have commented on how soggy this spring has been! In fact, water has been a theme throughout the year - beginning with the January flooding in Australia, followed by the tsunami in Japan, the Southeastern hurricanes, the overflow of the Mississippi, and just so much rain! Here's what the numbers reveal:

2011 has a two on either side (2 and 11).  The number 2 in the tarot is the High Priestess. She represents lunar, feminine energy, our subconscious mind, dreams, memories, and intuition. This energy is governed by the element of water, which is influenced by the moon. 2011 is also a 4 Universal year. 4 represents the Earth and material world. The 11 element of this year shows us where we need to find balance, and where there is division.  This cosmic stew of Water, Earth and Division reveals to us where we need to restore harmony in the physical structures of our lives. On the physical plane, this has manifested as broken pipes, cars, roofs, appliances, and even our bodies. This is why I encourage you to be very proactive about taking care of your health and your belongings.
 
On a metaphysical level, this reveals a much deeper lesson. Water represents our emotions, which need to flow and find expression. Yet, we live in a society where safety means we conform, and don't "rock the boat" too much, or else we won't fit in and survive. Perhaps all this water is teaching us that our emotions can no longer fit into the tiny containers we put them in. Perhaps the "real us" is feeling out of balance from working too hard, or doing things and pleasing people that don't nurture us in return. Our emotions need a larger container, a more expansive life - one where we are expressing those very things we are born to do and be. (Thank you Lady Gaga!).



Many people feel lost and don't even know what their purpose is. Fortunately, we've been given a gift this year, albeit in strange wrapping paper. Through the amazing synchronicity of the Universe, there is an energy being highlighted this month in our heavens through the comet Chiron, which is now transiting Pisces (a water sign of course). Chiron in our natal chart represents our "wounded healer", where we have our deepest wounds and in an effort to heal those wounds, we find our power to heal others. Chiron is not an easy energy to navigate. You might find that you and/or your loved ones are now experiencing a dark night of the soul - dealing with a circumstance that you have worked many years to heal, and here it is - rearing it's head again. This is not you being cursed, or doing something wrong. it is merely the dark side of the light, the moon reflecting the sun's vital rays so you can push through your tides of fear and find your way toward your purpose. Through the process of healing your deepest wounds, you can then help others navigate their journey with your light, and truly be of service in the world.



Perhaps at this moment your life and circumstances are wonderful. You will find that by having gone through your own healing journey, you are now at a place where you can help others find their way in the dark. Whatever your situation is now, whether you are in place to support others, or in need of support, we are on this Earthwalk together, helping each other every step of the way. 



Wherever you are, whatever you are going through, know that there are many who have traveled this road before you, many who are walking with you, and many who will follow in your footsteps.  Have faith and know that if you open your heart and let love in, you will always find your way.
