Year of Passion and Abundance
Hello friends,
Happy 2006! In case you haven't figured it out yet, 2006 is going to ROCK YOUR WORLD! Perhaps you felt a major energy shift as the calendar turned; the change has been quite dramatic. Don't plan on this powerburst ending any time soon; this is going to be one heck of a year!
If you looked to the sky on New Year's Eve, you might have noticed that glorious new moon we had shining above us. New moons represent fresh starts, new beginnings and a time to plant seeds for all that you wish for. If you haven't done so already, write down and ask the Universe for all you desire in your heart that you would like to come to fruition. Just to add some juice to your wishmaking, the new moon was also in the sign of Capricorn, a powerful moon for setting goals, initiating projects and giving you the strength, power and stamina to achieve all that you desire. The Universe is definitely conspiring to help you!
Looking at this year's numerology will give you more of a glimpse into the magnitude of the year's energy. 2006 is an 8 year. We determine this by adding the numbers of the year 2+0+0+6=8. In numerology, eight is the number of abundance; its energy expands outward in a loving, enthusiastic manner. This is quite different than the 7 energy of last year. Seven is a spiritual number, and consequently, the energy is directed inward, in a discerning manner. You might have experienced many trials last year, which is a test of your spirit and faith; a way for you to understand what is truly important to you and fine tune the direction of your life. This may have required you putting your feelings in control somewhat as you strived to achieve your goals.
Here's the good news: remember those feelings you had to bottle up last year to keep your cool while you were trying to achieve your goals - now's the time to let them out! Not just last year's feelings either, but you might find bubbling up some older ones that you tucked away long, long ago. You might find some lost talents and creativity along the way too.
The number 8 card in tarot is the Strength card, which corresponds to the sign of Leo. This card is one of my favorites in the deck. It depicts a beautiful, angelic woman, clad in white with the sideways eight (infinity symbol) above her head, and with her eyes closed, she is very gracefully opening the jaws of a lion, as the lion affectionately kisses her hand. You can click on this link for a picture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strength_%28Tarot_card%29.
You may ask, what is this crazy woman doing opening the mouth of the lion? Well, the tarot is symbolic so just bear with me here. The lion can represent many things. If you are familiar with the sign of Leo, whose symbol is the lion, you might already have some insight into this card. Like Leo, the lion can represent our loves, passions, and our fiery, creative energy. It can also represent our power. Not just our personal power, but the true and ultimate power that comes from letting the God-force energy work through our lives as we achieve our ultimate potential in service of Spirit. If you need an illustration of this, I suggest you log onto the website of child prodigy Akiane, look at some of her works, http://www.artakiane.com/ and listen to her interview here: http://www.theindigoevolution.com/akiane_lg.html
Eights are about moving and taking action. Sometimes we need courage to do this. It is oftentimes much easier to keep things as they are, in their nice little container all tucked away and safe from any change. You will find this year that the Universe will not allow you to do that. You might feel that you are outgrowing your container, that your life is much smaller than you want it to be, that there is much more to you, more potential, more energy, more vitality, more spontaneity, creativity, power, love, basically more of everything and you will crave a change. This is not always easy. It takes a great deal of courage and willpower to make a real change and deliberately alter the course of your life, but you can and you will do it. As illustrated in the Strength card, it is frightening to approach the lion, to tap into your lost passions and desires, but it is well worth the effort.
So, how do you do this? First of all, ask yourself, is there anything I have always wanted to do and never have? Or, is there something you used to love to do and no longer allow yourself the time or money to do it, or is there a recent urge that won't go away? Have you always wanted to travel? Take voice lessons? Go on a safari? Go back to school? I suggest now is a good time to do at least one, if not all of the things you have always wanted to do, or recently crave doing. Pick the one most feasible, and do it. Or, write down all of the things that stand in your way, any excuses you might have for not doing it, pick the one you can change most easily and make the first step towards making it happen.
Now, examine all the areas in your life that you love. Build on them, do more of them. If you love your partner, spend more time with him or her. If you are in a relationship, and no longer feel passionate, take the steps toward rekindling your passion. Remember what you loved about your relationship and try to do those things again. Have you neglected to take time for romance lately? For recreation? Vacations? Perhaps you might need to go to counseling together to work out some simple communication issues. If you feel the relationship is not working for you anymore, perhaps it is time to move on. This sounds extreme, but you will not serve anyone or anything by keeping yourself in a situation that is drowning you.
If you are single and want to be in a relationship you might find that as you ignite your passions for your own life and do the things that you love, your aura will change and you will attract a partner who responds to the enthusiasm you have for your life. It sounds crazy but it works!
Look into every area of your life: work/career, spiritual studies, hobbies, creativity, everything, and see where you lack passion and what changes you can make to improve it. Just changing one thing will create a chain of events to lead you to a more fulfilling life.
I wish you the very best to make the most of this powerful energy, and sincerely believe 2006 will be your best year yet! And as you appreciate your life more, your life will get better and better.
