The Year of the Lovers

Hello friends,

It is my goal to help others live a vibrant life, and live in balance with each other and the environment. There are several ancient tools to help you do so, yet most are lost in our society. Therefore, I have started this newsletter to help you on your journey.

Since one of my favorite areas of study is numerology, I would like to focus on a numerology topic for this issue. Numerology is much easier than astrology to learn, after all, there are only 9 primary numbers. Also, it is a heck of a lot easier to ask someone their birthday than to casually inquire whether they know their exact birthtime and latitudinal location! (Unless of course they live in Berkeley California).

Numerology can be used very specifically in minute detail, for a wide variety of purposes. We have so many numbers in our life - our bank account #, social security #, address, passwords, etc. Your birthday can also be used to determine your karmic patterns, strengths and weaknesses, your purpose. So numbers can be used generally, or very personally.

In astrology, the planets that are furthest from the sun are transpersonal planets, planets that affect the whole of the solar system in a more general way, rather than the personal planets that are closest.

So too, in numerology, there are numbers that have a stronger influence on planetary trends as a whole - mass consciousness rather than the individual - though they certainly affect the individual. My topic for this newsletter concerns a mass scale numerological influence - our year - 2004. Every being on this planet is currently influenced by the vibration of that number.

The beginning of the 21st century, the new millennium, was very exciting for numerologists. I could write volumes on the changes that happened, and I do plan on writing more about it in further issues. For now, however, I would like to share my observations on the current year.

Adding the numbers of the year 2+0+0+4, the sum is the primary number 6 (2+0+04=6).

The number 6 is a number of harmony, love, family, responsibility, attraction, beauty (incuding beautifying yourself and your home), animals, and nature. In the Tarot, the number six correlates with the card "The Lovers".

Since this is the year of The Lovers, you may find yourself making some long-awaited decisions about your relationships. If you are in a relationship, you may find yourself reevaluating each other's role, addressing issues you thought were previously insignificant, you may find yourself taking your relationship to a new level, i.e. marriage, having children, moving in together.
Or perhpas you find that your needs are being suffocated and you need to end it.

If you are not in a relationship, now is a good time to make very clear the type of person you want, be specific, what is most important to you? What will you tolerate? What won't you tolerate? Also, what have you been wanting to do to
make yourself feel more attractive? Do it.

Have you noticed that many of your friends this year are getting married? Having children? Buying or fixing up their houses? Purchasing more music? Changing their hairstyle? Doing more yoga?

It is astounding that although we are at war, one of the key issues of the presidential campaign is gay marriage! Whether two people who are in love (the Lovers) have a right to form a loving union and live in domestic harmony. The vibration of the number 6, a harmonizing loving number is influencing how we think and feel.

You may notice that you are tired of pushing yourself and need more time at home to relax. Please, follow your instincts and do not feel guilty! The balance and harmony of the 6 influence also affects the balance between your body, mind and spirit. Remember, 6 is a domestic number, so stay at home and don't rush to every social event that comes your way. 6 is also a social number, so there will be plenty of opportunities to socialize!

In the Cabala, the Tree of Life, of the 10 branches on the tree, 6 lies at the center- the heart of the tree. The upper branches stretch heavenward, focusing on spiritual issues, ideas and inspiration, while the bottom branches reach downward, receiving energy from the earth, matter, our material world - work, finances, home, etc. With 6 at the heart, you will find the balance between
material needs and ideals, between family responsibility and your own needs, between choosing a path you think you should be doing, and one that really inspires you.

If you are at a crossroads, making choices where to focus your energy, ask yourself: "Am I being true to my own needs, or trying to please others?" I urge you to respond to your own needs first. This is a wonderful time to take gentle steps towards your ideals, try something new, stay true to your inner vision, and make choices towards health, healing beauty and harmony. With that, I wish you well.

Kari
